To get started with MobileMe, you first need to create an account.
Once you’ve signed in, you will be presented with your MobileMe account information screen. It will tell you what type of account you have, how long you’ve been a member of MobileMe, your online storage capacity, and when your account will expire. You can click the Account Details button to change your billing information and other account settings.
You can use MobileMe to keep all of your devices synced up, including your iPhone, iPod, iPad, MacBook, and even your PC.
The sync status date and time will be updated to reflect your latest syncing.
iDisk is your online storage system that you can access through MobileMe. You will have 20GB of storage space with a single-user account. You can click the iDisk tab in the MobileMe preferences window to see how much space you have used. You can also set up your public folder, with options to allow others to write files to your space and to set passwords for those who do.
You can also choose to sync your iDisk with your MacBook so that you can access anything saved online from your computer even when you aren’t connected to the Internet.
Keychain is a password management utility available in Mac OS X. You can use it to store and automatically enter passwords to your favorite websites and to your e-mail account, among other things. You can also enter your MobileMe password information into your Keychain and then sync it with your devices.
This allows applications like Mail, Address Book, iWeb, and iPhoto to automatically connect to your MobileMe account with each use, rather than requiring you to input your password each time. If you want to sync your Keychain, make sure to select its check box during the sync process. If you want to see what information is stored in your Keychain, open the Keychain Access utility from Applications > Utilities.
