Side effects of natural detoxification

There are a variety of reasons to detoxify your body, just as there are different methods to perform a detoxification program. Regardless of your reasons for a body detox program, whether you do it to have healthy skin naturally, lose some excess weight or cure some diseases and/or ailments, you should be aware of what follows, before you begin. It’s of no importance if you're about to start juice fasting for more beautiful skin, detoxify your liver to improve your overall health, cleanse your colon to improve digestion and elimination, or plan to start a regimen of detoxifying herbs and baths of clay to free your body of heavy metals – detox, in all of its forms, is never a bed of roses.

Don’t take it as a discouragement, just be realistic! Knowing what to expect from detox, you're more likely to follow through and finish the detoxification program. You have to know that there are a lot of reactions occurring while you're waiting for your body to heal, and usually part of this healing process involves a certain degree of discomfort.

Just keep in mind that a somewhat minor discomfort is absolutely worth the long-term health benefits. So just keep those positive feelings up and bouncing, even when struggling with a state of mild discomfort.

Detox process

The same way as you might spring clean your home during winter or summer, you can also go through with a detox program to have healthier skin in a natural way at any time of the year. And exactly like spring cleaning your home, the detoxification program will give your body a thorough cleaning. This is like moving furniture and lifting the carpets so you can clean under them, and using a toothbrush for every corner of the house.

If you are performing a detoxification to regulate your digestive tract, boost your metabolism, or you’re doing a skin detox to recover that naturally glowing, beautiful skin, some deep cleansing and scrubbing of your insides will be necessary - all your organs will be affected in a positive way. Even if you decide to go through a delicate detox, the whole body is affected, but you just might not feel all of the changes that take place. A detoxification program removes toxins from our bodies. And that means that many toxins will be removed from pretty much each and every single cell of your body.

Exactly like a thorough home cleaning, where the air is just full of dust, there will be a lot of toxins moving through your body. And exactly the same way as an excessive amount of dust flying around the house, which you're not used to, can eventually make you ill, so too can all the toxins moving around in your body.

You just might wonder how toxins that have been around in your body can make you feel even more sick once you start to eliminate them. However, it makes perfect sense once you realize that all those toxins start to enter your blood when you begin your detoxification regimen, whereas before they were maybe lying hidden somewhere.

Just consider this. If these toxins ever caused you problems when your body initially ingested them by breathing or eating, then do not be surprised if they also cause some of the same problems as they are forced to leave your body. If those toxins caused you headaches at some point, then those headaches may get worse while detoxifying. If you ever had asthma in the past, you may experience more severe asthma attacks when you detoxify. If you were extremely, you may feel even more lethargic during your natural detoxification program.

Keeping these toxins in your body isn’t the best way to avoid discomfort. Keep in mind that the longer these toxins stay in your body, the more discomfort they’ll cause. They can even trigger diseases and severe health problems.

Every individual experiences different healing reactions. You may not have the same side effects as someone else that fights the same health problem and uses the same detoxification program. You’ll probably experience more severe reactions if your body has more toxins. No matter the degree of your detoxification flare-ups, the mentioned healing reactions are a very important part of a deep and thorough healing process. Exactly like a scab that itches when it starts to heal, welcome the healing process, and accept the peace of knowing that you will soon be reaping the benefits and have more wholeness.

This article is meant to prepare you for some side effects that a good detox program might have. Just keep in mind that these side effects of detoxification are temporary, whereas the benefits of the detox are almost permanent.
