Many casinos offer bingo as an attractive gambling game. Bingo does not have difficult rules to follow, and there is always at least one if not more winners in every game. The Bingo Caller is responsible for taking the ball that has been selected and showing it to the audience. The individual must then announce the number and letter of the ball. The Bingo Caller places each announced ball onto a board that corresponds to the number and letter that have been called. The Bingo Caller continues selecting and announcing ball numbers and letters until someone shouts “Bingo,” indicating a winner. Electronic numbered boards are often used that light up when a number is selected so that the playing audience can clearly see the numbers that have been picked.
A Bingo Caller is responsible for verifying the winning ticket. This is done by a floorperson going to the winning player and reading out loud the numbers that have been covered. The Bingo Caller checks the numbers that are read against the numbers that have been selected. He or she may also verify the ticket number. The Bingo Caller announces a winner and the payoff. The Bingo Caller may be responsible for operating the bingo equipment. He or she may turn the machine on and off. In some games there may be two Callers. One turns on the machine and hands the ball that comes out to the second Bingo Caller. In other games one Bingo Caller handles both functions.

Bingo Callers, like others working in a gaming area, must be licensed in the state in which they work. There are also minimum age requirements in most states. In most positions, no prior experience is necessary for this job. An individual should have a clear speaking voice, and the ability to speak into a microphone and talk in front of an audience is necessary. Bingo Callers are not represented by a union.
