Microsoft Ie shares many components along with other areas of Windows, for example Windows Explorer. Ie is one of the most heavily used components in the operating system, and one of the biggest targets of attack, so a lot will go wrong by using it. But being an integrated Windows component, it may be very difficult to fix issues with the browser. How do we fix Ie when it misbehaves?
Many issues with Ie, or any web browser, come from plug-ins and toolbars. These components cause many problems, including an extremely slow startup time. It's not hard to switch off problematic plug-ins and toolbars from inside the browser. With Ie open, click Tools in the top right of the toolbar, and choose Manage Add-ons.
A window appears with information about all your add-ons and toolbars. Disable each suspicious add-on one at any given time, restarting Ie each time for you to find out if the issue persists.
Sometimes you cannot attempt Ie and switch off the add-ons and toolbars without them crashing. There is a fix for your problem as well.
There is a special entry for Ie in the Windows 7 Start menu to operate the program with all of add-ons, toolbars, and ActiveX controls disabled. To locate this special mode, simply type add in the Start menu search box, or search for it on the Start menu by clicking Accessories and then clicking System Tools.
You'll be notified once the program starts that no add-ons are running, along with a yellow information bar can look. You can click the info bar to handle your add-ons.
Again, if you are unsure what add-ons or toolbars are resulting in the problem, you might like to shut them down one at any given time, restarting Ie in normal mode each time for you to find out if the issue continues to be rectified.
A different way to manage add-ons in Ie is thru User interface. You can access the settings by clicking Network And Internet and then clicking Manage Browser Add-ons. A window opens with choices for Ie. Here you will notice a Manage Add-ons button.
